Where can I charge my electric vehicle in Giffnock?

As more Giffnock residents make the switch to electric vehicles, having easy access to local charging points is more important than ever. Whether you're commuting into Glasgow or running errands around town, knowing where to top up your EV can make all the difference.

So, let’s break down what’s currently available in and around Giffnock for our local EV drivers.

Eastwood Park (Rouken Glen Road, G46 7JS)

Tucked away beside East Renfrewshire Council HQ and Eastwood Leisure Centre, this site has a 22kW standard charger with two sockets. It’s ideal if you’re spending some time in the park, popping into the gym, or even just heading into the office.

⚠️ Note: At the moment, this charging point is temporarily out of service — the Council is working on getting it back up and running soon.

Merryvale Place Car Park (G46 6AT)

This one’s right in the heart of the village. With a 22kW charger and two sockets, it’s great for those quick trips to the shops or a bite to eat in one of Giffnock’s fantastic cafés and restaurants.

⚠️ Heads up: Like Eastwood Park, this unit is also currently offline, but keep an eye out — repairs are underway.
